Summary
Kumadori is one of the final members of CP9 to be revealed, distinguished by his imposing frame, a massive mane of pinkish hair, and a right eye that remains perpetually closed. He adheres strictly to a samurai honor code, often attempting comical seppuku whenever he perceives he has dishonored himself. Because he readily accepts blame for any mishap, including those caused by others, these self-destructive impulses occur frequently. However, he instinctively employs Tekkai before each attempt, inadvertently saving his own life. He harbors deep emotional ties to his mother, sobbing even during combat at the mere thought of her, and attributes his survival to her divine protection. This narrative is complicated by the revelation that his mother is actually alive and working as an assassin. Although he claims to despise dishonesty, he has no issue with melodramatic storytelling. As a sennin, he possesses the ability to control his autonomic functions and alter his body mass, which explains his fluctuating weight and his capacity to manipulate his hair. Kumadori is an exceptionally loud individual who speaks almost exclusively in bolded exclamations. He frequently shouts phrases resembling "YOYOI!!" and adopts the drawn-out syllables characteristic of kabuki actors. His name likely derives from the kabuki makeup technique of the same name, a resemblance reinforced by his dramatic poses, such as holding one hand out in front of him, which mimic mie poses. His vocal inflections also mirror those of traditional kabuki performers. In battle, he utilizes his hair to grapple and attack opponents and occasionally wields a shakujō. He also has a habit of reciting haiku during fights. During his initial confrontation with Nami, who was at a severe disadvantage, he was interrupted when Chopper arrived to help her escape after she had stolen his key. Chopper then became his opponent. Despite the advantages of being a sennin, Kumadori was severely injured and thrown back to the courthouse after Chopper consumed a third Rumble Ball, entering his Monster Point form.
