Summary
Emi Akezawa is the mother of Baki Hanma. It is suggested that she previously worked as a prostitute before marrying into wealth. During a vacation, she and her husband encountered Yujiro. Her husband became enraged by her fascination with Yujiro and struck her, only to have his neck broken by Yujiro in response. Emi fell in love with Yujiro and resolved to raise Baki to become a warrior like him. However, her affection gradually twisted into obsession, and she never treated her son with genuine warmth. When Yujiro deemed Baki’s abilities insufficient and abandoned her, Emi’s feelings toward Baki turned into hatred.
