Summary
Anna Kyouyama is a human itako and shaman who serves as the fiancée of Yoh Asakura. An abandoned child adopted by Kino Asakura, her birth details remain a mystery. Though she appears cold, harsh, and pragmatic, she is deeply devoted to Yoh, the first true friend she ever had. She is determined to become the ultimate Shaman Queen by forcing Yoh to train hard, firmly believing he is destined to become the Shaman King. Her spiritual prowess is immense, allowing her to channel spirits from anywhere, even heaven, and she successfully sealed Hao Asakura’s guardian spirits, Zenki and Kouki. Anna and Hao share a complex dynamic; while she detests him, he seems amused by her hostility. Hints suggest she is the reincarnation of Asano-Ha, Hao’s mother from a millennium ago, and Hao has expressed serious intentions to make her his bride. Despite her aggressive treatment of Yoh, she loves him deeply, breaking down in tears when he was possessed by Tokagero and hysterical when his soul was stolen. She is extremely possessive, once beating Yoh over a misunderstanding involving an Oracle Bell and reacting with jealousy toward Tamao Tamamura. She attends Shinra Private Academy alongside Yoh and Manta Oyamada.
