Summary
Known as the Ghost Princess, Perona is a 23-year-old woman with a June 7 birthday who serves as a commander in Gecko Moria’s army aboard the island-ship Thriller Bark. Dressed in Gothic Lolita attire, she leads the Perona Wonder Garden, an area inhabited by animal zombies that serve as her personal guards. During the Thriller Bark arc, she helped loot the Thousand Sunny alongside other zombies and took over guard duties while Absalom was away trying to marry Nami. She has a strong aversion to anything she deems not cute, such as insects. Perona possesses the Horo Horo no mi (Ghost Ghost fruit) ability, which allows her to generate ghostly apparitions that can pass through targets to induce severe depression. Her unique laugh, horohorohoro, includes the word horo, meaning ghost, which is also the name of her Devil Fruit. Her dream is to establish a country populated by cute zombie animals under her leadership. She was unaware of Brook or the events from five years prior because she slept through the incident, even scolding Kumashi when he attempted to wake her. Like many residents of Thriller Bark, her character design is based on classic horror movie tropes, specifically ghosts.
