Tachibana is one of Shizuka's friends within the series. In earlier iterations, she is typically credited in the closing sequences as Classmate (Kurasumeito) or Girl (Onnanoko), functioning primarily as a background character. Her most significant moment occurs in the episode "Gravity Paint," where she gains a speaking role and is elevated to the status of a supporting character for that specific installment. It was not until episode 609, titled "Arranging Railway by Myself" in the 2005 series, that her surname was finally revealed; her last name appears on a train route map, although her first name remains undisclosed.
