Summary
Maron Kusakabe is a sixteen-year-old high school student who appears entirely ordinary on the surface but possesses exceptional talent in gymnastics. Her secret identity is that of Kaitou Jeanne, a phantom thief and the reincarnation of Jeanne D'Arc. Guided by the angel Finn, who is dispatched to assist her, she carries out a divine mission to seal demons that have descended to Earth with the intent of stealing the beauty residing within human hearts. These demons conceal themselves inside objects of great aesthetic value, typically pieces of artwork, and are captured when Jeanne strikes them with a pushpin while shouting "Checkmate!", which transforms the entities into chess pieces. Despite her heroic duties, Maron is a lonely individual who conceals her true emotions behind a warm, friendly smile.
