Nitori, Shuuichi

Nitori, Shuuichi

Summary

Known affectionately as Shuu or Nitorin, Shuuichi serves as one of the two protagonists and is introduced as a young trans girl in the fifth grade of elementary school. Her feminine facial features and physical build allow her to pass as a girl, earning her the description of being cute from many peers. She takes pride in wearing outfits that enhance her cute appearance, a habit encouraged by her friends, Yoshino Takatsuki and Saori Chiba. As she matures, Shuuichi becomes increasingly anxious about the physical changes brought on by puberty, such as deepening voice, acne, and body hair growth. Unlike typical children her age, Shuuichi avoids outdoor sports and prefers indoor pursuits. She possesses a talent for baking sweets, although she is not depicted cooking conventional meals. Her interest in writing blossoms after she starts an exchange diary with Takatsuki, leading her to join the drama club in junior high school alongside Saori. There, she contributes as a writer, notably collaborating on a class performance of Romeo and Juliet. Shuuichi’s honest nature facilitates easy relationships with others, and she generally maintains an obedient and dutiful demeanor. However, puberty brings occasional emotional outbursts that contrast with her usually quiet disposition. She can be overly sensitive and is frequently seen crying in front of others. Her personality makes it simpler for her to bond with girls, resulting in a very small circle of male friends.
