Summary
Cyprus, representing the Republic of Cyprus with Nicosia as its capital, is a character whose age and height remain unknown, though his birthday is also unlisted. His national flower is the Cyprus cyclamen, and the languages spoken in his nation are Greek and Turkish. Before his official manga debut, he appeared three years earlier on the drama CD Axis Powers Hetalia: The CD in the track titled The Flag of Cyprus. In that appearance, he was depicted as a polite and highly expressive young man who deeply values peace. As a Mediterranean nation historically controlled by Turkey and England, Cyprus finds himself caught in the middle of conflicts between Greece and Turkey. Despite the tensions, he harbors hope that a resolution will eventually allow them to get along. His younger brother, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, desires to reunite with him, yet Cyprus continues to maintain dialogue with him, a stance that irritates Greece. During confrontations, he eventually shouts at both Greece and Turkey, scolding them for their behavior. His appearance in volume 4 highlights how the rivalry between Greece and Turkey frequently disrupts his peaceful demeanor, causing him to become agitated. Interestingly, he is a bed-wetter, with the peculiar trait that his urine takes the shape of the island of Cyprus. Character notes describe him as cool, composed, and easy-going, although he admits to being quite busy due to the constant arguing between Turkey and Greece. During the Christmas 2011 event, he expressed his love for the special atmosphere of the holiday and noted that he was inexplicably in a cheerful mood.
