Summary
Aoi Kaji is a sixteen-year-old transfer student from the General Education department who joins Class 2-2 at Seisou High School, landing in Kahoko’s classroom. He was introduced as a new character in the second game and later in Chapter 47 of the manga. Born on November 12 as a Scorpio with AB blood, Aoi has blonde hair and emerald green eyes. He comes from a prestigious and wealthy background; his grandfather owns a hospital and his father is a politician. While his grandfather hopes Aoi will study medicine and eventually take over the hospital, Aoi was afforded more freedom than many in his position. He is exceptionally smart and athletic, though he possesses a rebellious streak. Musically, Aoi previously played the violin but switched to the viola following a past incident. Although he lacks confidence in his own performances due to insufficient training, he has acute hearing that allows him to quickly identify flaws in others' playing. He is also remarkably fast at tuning instruments. His first encounter with Kahoko took place in a local park, where he overheard her playing the violin. Captivated by her sound, he openly declared himself her number one fan. Aoi is polite in his speech, a mannerism shared with Azuma stemming from their similar upbringings. However, he does not get along with Azuma, often exchanging cynical remarks with the upperclassman. In fact, Aoi is perhaps the only person besides Kahoko who is aware of Azuma’s true personality.
