Summary
Karai is a shinobi hailing from Kumogakure. During a covert mission to retrieve a kinjutsu from Sugi Village, he and Nigai were ambushed by the mercenary Nokizaru Group, who had been hired to steal the scroll. Although they managed to escape, they were secretly implanted with microscopic Exploding Insects. After Nigai verbally abused the Fourth Raikage, he attacked the mercenaries in a rage and subsequently exploded. Karai engaged the group next but halted his assault before he could be killed. His comrade and medical-nin, Amai, tried to heal him but failed. Eventually, despite Karai's initial objections, Tsunade was brought in to assist; Shizune removed the insect while Amai helped perform the surgery. He made his anime debut in Naruto Shippuuden Episode #286.
