Eriko
Summary
Eriko served as one of Miyoko Tanashi’s roommates at the orphanage, functioning as the closest companion Miyoko had during her time there. While the exact circumstances of her arrival at the facility remain unknown, it is presumed she lost her parents to the war or a similar tragedy, much like the other children. At some point, Eriko coordinated a plan with Miyoko and two others to flee the harsh conditions and reach a superior institution known as the House of Love. Their escape attempt failed; although Miyoko managed to get the furthest away, all participants were apprehended and severely punished. Eriko was confined to the chicken coop, where she suffered a gruesome death, having her eyes gouged out and being violently pecked to death by the birds, an event that horrified Miyoko. The anime does not disclose Eriko’s ultimate fate.
