Summary

Toujou Koneko is a 15-year-old Reincarnated Devil serving as the Rook for Rias Gremory’s peerage. Born Shirone to a human father and a Nekomata mother named Fujimai, she is a member of the rare Nekoshou subspecies. Her father, a scientist, neglected her and utilized her for experiments, while her parents ultimately perished in an accident. Her older sister, Kuroka, concealed the truth about their death to protect her. Afterward, they were taken in by a Devil from the House of Naberius branch family who reincarnated Kuroka. While Kuroka claimed her master died due to her uncontrollable Nekomata power, he actually intended to experiment on Koneko to create a Super Devil. Kuroka killed him to save her sister and subsequently became a Stray Devil. Koneko faced execution by the Devils to prevent further incidents, but Sirzechs Lucifer intervened and placed her under Rias Gremory’s care. Traumatized by her sister’s actions and the loss of her family, Koneko suffered severe depression and emotional numbness until Rias helped her recover, giving her the name Koneko and making her a servant. She possesses a quiet, cold, and serious demeanor, which contrasts with Kuroka’s mischievous nature and is attributed to Rias’s influence. Initially hostile toward Issei for his perversion, she later respects his perseverance and work ethic. She is deeply loyal to her comrades and fights fiercely to protect them. Koneko is sensitive about her small stature and flat chest, reacting negatively when others refer to her as a midget.
