Jenazad, Silcardo
Summary
Silcardo Jenazad, known as the Demon Fist God of Yami's One Shadow Nine Fists, was a sixty-year-old Dou type and Satsujin Ken member who held the Yami Symbol of the King. Specializing in all Silat styles with a focus on Pencak Silat, which he termed "Supreme Silat," he served as the former master to Radin Tidat Jihan. Jenazad typically appeared in Tidat clothing and a distinctive demon mask, which was shattered during his battle with Hongou. Beneath the mask, he was a dark-skinned man with a narrow jaw, shoulder-length hair, and bangs framing his eyes. A sadistic, amoral, and sociopathic figure, Jenazad believed himself to be a god among men, delighting in the suffering of others and sacrificing people to further his goals without hesitation. He maintained extremely high expectations for his disciples, cold-heartedly disposing of those who failed him, such as causing an avalanche to bury Jihan for failing to kill Kenichi quickly enough. He showed no attachment to his country or its people, readily abandoning them when injured or killed. Jenazad was battle-loving, often eager to intervene in fights like those between Sakaki and Sehrul, or to watch matches between Hongo and Sakaki, and Kenichi and Miu. He possessed a unique "kakakakaka" laugh and had a peculiar habit of eating fruit, including pineapples, to quench his thirst. Following the way of the Demon, which Hongou Akira noted was even more extreme than the paths of Ryozanpaku or Yami, Jenazad displayed a heartlessness in combat. He was arrogant, claiming Yami was merely a temporary truce between masters, a trait that nearly cost him his life when he underestimated Hongou and was eventually killed by the older martial artist. Jenazad held a deep grudge against Fuurinji Hayato, attempting to brainwash his granddaughter to break her holdback against Kenichi. Flashbacks suggested the two may have once been friends, with Jenazad possibly teaching the Elder Tidat medicine, but his hatred extended to Hayato’s bloodline, blaming it for preventing his control over Miu. He also disliked Kenichi, seeing Hayato in the younger fighter and viewing him as an obstacle to controlling Miu. In his youth, Jenazad completed his Pencak Silat training by killing his master, who called him a perfect warrior but warned that defeat would likely come from greater tenacity rather than skill. Thirty years before the series began, Jenazad led a guerilla unit against a Western power, saving his country from extinction and earning his title. However, uncomfortable with the peace he created, he secretly instigated conflicts among his people to utilize his skills again and had his subordinates fight to death to force Silat to evolve.
