Summary
Kou is a 22-year-old self-proclaimed member of the elite and the first son of the Ichinomiya family, making him the heir to the family business. While his peers are typical college students, Kou has already secured a luxurious apartment and claims to have amassed over 800 million yen. Since birth, he has been indoctrinated to avoid owing anyone anything, a philosophy that dominates his existence. He wears a necktie bearing his family’s motto and constantly devises strategies to reject unwanted charity. His isolated, wealthy lifestyle shifts dramatically after Nino saves him. To settle his debt to her, he agrees to become her boyfriend and move in with her, abandoning his previous carefree existence. Kou shares a familial predisposition to severe asthma, which flares up when he is stressed or nervous. Within the group, the mayor has nicknamed him 'Riku,' an abbreviation for 'recruit,' referencing his status as a newly recruited businessman.
