Katou, Kiri
Summary
Kiri Katou is a 16-year-old first-year student at Kaimei High School who is descended from real ninja. Standing 180 cm tall with blood type A, he is known for his preference to do things his own way and his strong dislike for taking orders from others. He initially serves in Class 1-D from chapters 1 through 209 before moving to Class 2-?. His story begins in Chapter 152, titled "Chase Kagerou!", which also marks his anime debut in Episode 72. During middle school, Katou witnessed his friend Kihara being regularly harassed. Although Katou could not resolve the situation himself, he asked a teacher to intervene. The teacher was actually one of the tormentors, which worsened the bullying and led to Kihara being shunned by the entire class. This experience caused Katou to lose faith in relying on others, reinforcing his independent nature. He tends to speak bluntly and act spontaneously, preferring to handle matters on his own terms. After graduating from first year, Katou becomes the General Affairs Manager for the Student Council. His personality shifts significantly after he acknowledges Tsubaki. He becomes fiercely protective of her and less adamant about working alone, choosing instead to follow her lead and cooperate with the rest of the Student Council.
