Summary
Shiina Yuya operates as a bounty hunter driven by the prospect of capturing the massive one million ryo reward on Demon Eyes Kyo’s head. Her path diverges when she encounters Kyoshiro, forming a bond with him until Kyo reappears and puts Kyoshiro into a deep slumber. Once Kyo fully awakens, Yuya chooses to accompany him, eventually overcoming his hostile demeanor to place her trust and faith in him. During their time in the Aokigahara forest, she discovers the truth that Kyoshiro murdered her older brother, Nozomu. Rather than seeking immediate revenge, she resolves to wait for his return to the surface to demand an explanation, maintaining a complex interest in both Kyo and Kyoshiro. Deep down, Yuya possesses knowledge of a valuable secret belonging to the Mibu Clan, a truth revealed to her by Nozomu during her childhood. Although the Aka no Ou regards her as a seer, this claim remains unverified. In Chapter 229, while warning her brother that she would never forgive him if he harmed Kyo, Yuya publicly declares her romantic feelings for him. Although she can be temperamental and violent when provoked, her underlying nature is gentle and kind. Her charm extends beyond Kyo, as Benitora and Akira also harbor crushes on her, and many other characters come to value her as a cherished friend worthy of protection. By the conclusion of the manga, Yuya is seen searching for Kyo, and they are later shown living together in the bonus chapter.
