Takenaka, Masahiro
Summary
Born in Tokyo’s Adachi ward, Masahiro Takenaka has spent his life engaged in continuous revolutionary struggles. A former member of the Japanese Red Army, he was forced to flee Japan following the arrest of many of his comrades. He currently serves as a co-leader of the Protectors of the Islamic Front, where he frequently engages in friendly disputes with his partner and friend, Ibraha. While Ibraha is driven by hatred, Takenaka’s extensive experience allows him to analyze situations with rationality. He maintains a calm, good-natured, and sociable demeanor. As a communist, he is also an atheist. Takenaka correctly deduced that the Lagoon Company, allied with Mr. Chang’s Triad, was traveling to Basilan in the Philippines to deliver the P.I.F.’s schedule for a Presidential assassination in the United States. He captured Rock, believing him to be in possession of the documents, which were actually carried by Revy. However, Rock was rescued when Revy, Shenhua, and Leigharch launched a counterattack. Ultimately, Takenaka was forced to kill Ibraha when the latter attempted to order the Basilan insurgents they had hired into a suicidal assault on a government base.
