Summary
Jeanne d'Arc, a peasant girl from eastern France, asserted that she received divine guidance and subsequently led the French army to crucial victories during the Hundred Years' War. These successes cleared the path for the coronation of Charles VII. Captured by the Burgundians and sold to the English, she faced trial by an ecclesiastical court and was burned at the stake at the age of nineteen.
