Summary
Yeegar stands as the eldest of the five Generals, a role that sees him frequently placing himself at the forefront of early battles. While Komui and others describe him as being quite strict regarding manners and speech, he is fundamentally a kind individual. His deep compassion is evident in his disappointment over failing to reach Belgium in time to prevent a casualty, as well as his joy when preparing meals for Allen Walker, who had consumed much of the food Yeegar had cooked for himself, Allen, and the finders. He was the first General targeted by the Noah, suffering a brutal defeat at the hands of Tyki Mikk, who stole and destroyed his Innocence. In the manga, Tyki Mikk crucified Yeegar backwards on a cross. Following the battle, Yeegar’s mind broke; he rambled about the Earl’s search for the Heart of all Innocence before succumbing to his injuries. Prior to the attack by Tyki Mikk and Road Kamelot, he sacrificed his own safety to create an opening for his finders to escape. The manga offers little insight into Yeegar until Komui informs Allen, Lavi, and Lenalee of his death, noting that he possessed seven Innocence in addition to his own, bringing the total destroyed by the Millennium Earl to eight. In the anime, his anti-Akuma weapon consists of chained pendulums that can separate to strike multiple targets simultaneously. The anime also reveals his backstory as a teacher before becoming an Exorcist. After a student’s friend transformed the deceased student into an Akuma that killed their classmates, an Exorcist wielding a bow destroyed the threat. This event led the Exorcist to inform Yeegar about the Black Order, prompting him to join and eventually rise to the rank of General.
