Summary
Ravel Phenex is a Pure-Blooded Devil and High-Class Devil who serves as the Bishop and King within Issei Hyoudou’s peerage. As the youngest daughter of Lord and Lady Phenex, she is the sister of Ruval Phenex, an unnamed older brother, and Riser Phenex. A second-year student at Kuoh Academy, she originally belonged to Riser’s peerage before being transferred to her mother and subsequently to Issei following Riser’s defeat. Like her brothers, she inherited the Phoenix bloodline, granting her control over fire and wind, as well as immortality. Initially presenting herself as spoiled, arrogant, and snobbish, Ravel is actually well-mannered, modest, and elegant, though she can be harsh toward those she dislikes. She was fiercely loyal to Riser and believed in his invincibility until witnessing his loss to Issei, which sparked her attraction to him. Her feelings evolved into love, expressed through typical tsundere behavior. Rather than resenting her status as one of Issei’s concubines, she desires to remain by his side and takes pride in her role as his manager and strategist. She studies diligently to support him effectively, acting as the second-in-command of his peerage. Ravel is intelligent, mature, and highly perceptive, often understanding the mood of situations and Issei’s thoughts without words. She maintains strict standards for potential allies, denying Kuroka’s suggestion of Le Fay Pendragon joining due to the Khaos Brigade affiliation and initially opposing Elmenhilde Karnstein’s inclusion. While she can be ruthless in pursuit of victory, such as tormenting Tsubaki Shinra with manga readings, she is also emotionally fragile, crying after the Azazel Cup defeat against Dulio’s team. Despite her maturity, she exhibits childish stubbornness, frequently competing with Koneko and other girls for Issei’s attention and belongings.
