Summary
Einosuke serves as the father of Takiko and is the scholar responsible for translating The Universe of Four Gods. Shortly after completing this translation, Takiko ascends to the role of priestess of Genbu, allowing Einosuke to witness her adventures through the text. During a brief return to the real world, she apologizes and clarifies that she holds no regret for being born female, while also revealing that Einosuke had hoped to utilize the book’s power to cure his wife’s illness. When Takiko returns a second time, Einosuke has contracted tuberculosis and attempts in vain to destroy the volume. In the original series, he is compelled to kill Takiko to save her from being devoured by Genbu, subsequently taking his own life. Aware from personal experience that the book cannot be destroyed, Einosuke entrusts The Universe of Four Gods to his assistant, Takao Ōsugi.
