Summary
Ion Fortuna, the Earl of Memphis and Keeper of the Empress's Swords, was born in 3045 AD. Considered quite young by Methuselah standards, he is the grandson of Mirka Fortuna and possesses immense pride for both the Empire and his race. Tasked by the Empress to serve as an Imperial envoy, he traveled to negotiate with the Vatican. When the Vatican embassy in Carthage, where Caterina was staying, was consumed by fire, Vatican agents suspected his involvement. Ion fled from Father Tres's gunfire but sustained an injury from a silver bullet. Abel and Esther subsequently made contact with Ion and Radu, helping them escape through the city's underground passages.
