Kelpie
Seiyuu / Dub
Summary
Kelpie is an impolite and arrogant fairy who aggressively pursues Lydia. Bound by a moon spell that repels unwanted fairy advances, he must bring Lydia the "moon" to win her affection, even though it is evident to everyone but Kelpie that she has no interest in him. He follows her to London to return her to Scotland. Despite his aggressive behavior, Kelpie genuinely loves and cares for Lydia, comforting her when she is confused, although she often protests his actions. In his fairy form, he appears as a black horse, while his human form is that of an attractive young man with dark hair and eyes featuring white swirl pupils. His gaze can bewitch both men and women, and he possesses strong magical powers, including the ability to purify water and cleanse toxins. "Kelpie" is actually the name of his species rather than his given name, which remains unmentioned. He and Lydia first met in Scotland, where Lydia discovered that a man a middle-aged woman loved was actually a Kelpie, the younger brother of the Kelpie seeking to marry Lydia. After being convinced of their love, Lydia aided the couple in their relationship. Despite his initial demeanor, Kelpie demonstrates considerable concern for Lydia. He has saved her, and inadvertently Edgar and Co., on several occasions, once getting hurt while defending her. He recovers quickly when in water. At least twice, he has attempted to protect Lydia by removing her from Edgar’s side, believing her presence there is dangerous. He is also considerate of her feelings; rather than blaming her for breaking their deal regarding staying in the fairy world to save Edgar, he stated he would wait until she no longer had ties holding her back in the human world.
