Summary
Ruka is a kunoichi hailing from Kirigakure. When the reincarnated shinobi return to the battlefield, the Third Division is broken up into smaller units, with Ruka assigned to a squad under Monga’s command. She makes a solemn vow to Monga to risk her own life to save his should he be in danger. The group is soon confronted by Gari, whom Monga defeats by blowing him up. However, the squad watches in shock as Pakura mummifies Monga. Maki reveals to Ruka that Pakura was once her teacher, and after Maki shares the story of her death at the hands of Kirigakure, Ruka argues that the Bloody Mist has changed for the better under the Fifth Mizukage, though Pakura insists this does not erase the past. Pakura then attacks the area with fire to flush out the hiding shinobi, but the squad defends itself using Maki’s Cloth Binding Technique and Ruka’s Water Release. Just as Pakura prepares to kill them, Omoi and Zaji arrive. Gari rejoins the fight after his regeneration completes, but Pakura ultimately chooses to let the squad escape, using her powers to restrain Gari instead.
