Summary
White is an eleven-year-old who acts like a toddler, serving as the more naive counterpart to his duo with Black. Far from being pure, he is clearly a helpless and emotional child who remains open to the world, yet he paradoxically possesses a deep, all-knowing connection to the poetry of the streets. With his mind acting as a blank slate, White focuses entirely on simple sensory pleasures, specifically things that are soft or shiny. Although he senses that the world is collapsing around him and Black, he is ill-equipped to handle the crisis, gradually losing his tenuous grip on reality as events unfold. Ultimately, White relies on Black for survival.
