Summary
Emthatt Chen, known as Hikitsu, is a 21-year-old Genbu Celestial Warrior from the Han Tribe, an ethnic minority in western Hokkan. Born on November 16 with blood type O, he stands 184 cm tall and was born under the star Dipper. As a Celestial Warrior, he can manipulate water in the shape of snakes and possesses an uncontrollable second ability called Shikyokan, which forces anyone who looks into his eye to relive their worst memories. Hikitsu is extremely withdrawn and cold toward most people, except for his sister Aira and his best friend Tomite, whom he saved from an attack that killed Tomite’s father. He initially refuses to join Takiko because he is guarding Aira, who is frozen in ice, but agrees to join after Tomite reunites them and Aira is freed. Although he interacts little with other Celestial Warriors besides Tomite and shows particular fondness for Namame, he gradually opens up, becoming an invaluable companion. Alongside Inami, he serves as a voice of reason and an effective fighter, often advising retreat to protect villagers. In the original Fushigi Yuugi, he and Tomite act as guardians to the Shinzaho of the Priestess of Genbu, the necklace given by Oracle Anlu to Takiko, after their deaths. While he takes this duty seriously, he speaks freely to Miaka about the Shinzaho when confronted by the Celestial Warriors of Suzaku.
