Summary

Tsuruya is a hyperactive acquaintance of the current-time Mikuru, instantly recognizable by her ankle-length hair, a prominent tooth, and a booming voice. Her disposition is cheerful and friendly, though she is prone to bursts of unrestrained, intense laughter at even the slightest hint of humor. This fang-like tooth creates an idiosyncratic speech pattern characterized by a lisp and the omission of syllables, a trait highlighted in episode 9, and she frequently uses catchphrases like "megas" and "nyoro." Her understanding of the SOS Brigade stems almost entirely from Mikuru, and she is the heiress to the Tsuruya family, which is rumored to collaborate with Itsuki's Agency. It remains unclear whether she harbors a secret identity or agenda. Although she is not an official member, she plays a minor role in Mikuru Asahina's Adventure - Episode 00, joins the brigade's baseball team in episode four, and makes brief appearances in episodes nine and twelve of the anime. She appears more prominently in the novels, particularly in her interactions with Haruhi, whom Kyon believes she gets along with because both are nearly insane. Despite lacking official status, she is often utilized as an extra body for various Brigade activities.
