Kohaku
Summary
Kohaku, whose name translates to amber, is the younger brother of Sango. Once a victim of Naraku’s manipulation, he was forced into a tragic role when the demon lord disguised himself as Kagewaki Hitomi, the son of a feudal lord. Under this guise, Naraku deceived Lord Hitomi’s father into summoning Sango and the demon slayer clan to eliminate a fabricated threat. In the ensuing chaos, Kohaku was compelled to turn against his allies, resulting in the deaths of his father and the entire slayer group, with Sango managing to survive through sheer fortune. Although Kohaku was killed by the castle guards during that night, Naraku resurrected him as an amnesiac puppet. After multiple encounters with Sango and her companions, he gradually regained his traumatic memories. He then worked in secret to find a way to destroy Naraku while pretending to remain loyal, eventually forming an alliance with Kagura. At one point, Kohaku joined Kikyou to help fulfill Midoriko’s will. However, around the time of Kikyou’s death, he was rescued from Byakuya by Sesshomaru. He currently travels alongside Sesshomaru, Jaken, and Rin.
