Summary
Mariko is the daughter of Keiko and the younger sister of Sana. She appears across four pages and graces the cover of the final volume. Mariko idolizes Sana without realizing that Sana is actually her older sister. Following an encounter with Keiko, Sana spends a day at a theme park with Akito, Tsuyoshi, and Mariko. While Sana enjoys the outing, she comes to the realization that she lacks a familial connection to either Mariko or Keiko. In episode 023 of the anime, Mariko is the central focus. After a remote for Child's Toy is fired near her home, she wanders off to find Sana. She boards the channel 108 bus, an action known only to Zenjiro, and proceeds to roam around the studio. Keiko eventually contacts Misako for assistance in locating her supposedly lost daughter.
