Summary
Giran is a massive Pteranodon-like monster who faces off against Son Goku during the 21st Tenka'ichi Budokai tournament, ultimately losing the bout. Although he possesses considerable strength, Goku is eventually able to counter his attacks. The anime expands significantly on his character, including a scene where he engages in a bar fight after several drunk patrons mock him for ordering milk, prompting him to defeat them all. During the match, he prefers to be known by the name Kujirada. Later in the Piccolo Daimao arc, Tambourine tracks him down to fulfill Piccolo’s directive to eliminate all past Tenkaichi Budokai participants. Giran proves no match for Piccolo’s offspring and is swiftly defeated, but he is subsequently resurrected by the Dragon Balls at the conclusion of the saga.
