Summary

Jirachi is a diminutive, white, humanoid Pokémon characterized by short, stubby legs and comparatively longer arms. Flaps on the underside of its arms create the appearance of long sleeves, while a curved seam on its belly conceals a third, yellow eye with a cyan pupil, referred to as its "true eye." Its face features a normal pair of ovalish eyes accompanied by small, blue triangular markings underneath. A large, yellow, three-pointed structure crowns its head, with one point extending from the top and one on each side. Each point bears a teal "wish tag," and rounded extensions hang from either side of this structure to frame Jirachi's face. Two yellow streamers flow from its back, resembling comet tails. Jirachi spends the vast majority of its existence in hibernation, awakening for seven days every thousand years. It can also be roused by a song sung with a pure voice. While dormant, a tough, crystalline shell envelops its body to ward off enemies, though it remains capable of fighting if the shell proves insufficient, as demonstrated in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. During its brief waking periods, Jirachi is said to grant wishes. In the movie Jirachi: Wish Maker (M06), it does not create desired objects but instead teleports them to the wisher. Conversely, in the Pokémon the Series: Black & White episode Searching for a Wish! (EP132), it grants wishes without teleportation. The Pokémon Adventures manga establishes that Jirachi only grants wishes when its true eye is opened and limits itself to three wishes every thousand years, inscribed on its three wish tags. In this canon, it can animate seawater to create artificial Pokémon, such as Kyogre, and its power is exploited to create a monster in the film. The movie also links Jirachi's awakening to the Millennium Comet and reveals its third eye absorbs energy needed for hibernation. Its wish-granting ability also grants it immense attack power, allowing it to create a concentrated beam of light to blast targets. Despite being extremely rare, Jirachi can be found in mountains.
