Buggy

Summary

Buggy, standing at 192 cm with a birthday on August 8, serves as the primary antagonist of the Orange Town Arc and the secondary antagonist of the Loguetown Arc, having since evolved into a staple recurring figure in the series. He is the accidental consumer of the Bara Bara no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that grants him the power to dismember his body and control each piece independently, while simultaneously stripping him of the ability to swim. This unique physiology renders him immune to slashing attacks from knives or swords, as such strikes merely separate his body into its constituent parts rather than inflicting damage. His detached body parts possess the capacity for flight, moving with enough velocity to propel a person through a solid wall, though his feet remain an exception to this aerial capability. Despite the physical separation, Buggy retains full sensory connection to his limbs, meaning he experiences pain directly from any injury sustained by a detached part, such as when Luffy targeted his separated groin or stomped on his hand during Cabaji’s Sting of the Unicycle Technique. Furthermore, his control over these fragments appears limited to those within his line of sight or at a fixed distance from his main body. In combat, Buggy typically wields three knives held between his fingers, a weapon choice established during flashbacks of his youth. He also conceals a blade within his shoe and utilized a sword during his failed execution attempt of Luffy in Logue Town. While he leads the Buggy's Delivery organization, his narrative presence extends through major events including the Marineford Arc, the Levely Arc, and the Wano Arc.
