Mifune

Summary

Mifune possesses a soul so potent that it is equivalent to ninety-nine ordinary souls. Although Black Star intended to consume Mifune’s soul, he halted his attack upon witnessing Mifune’s dedication to protecting the young witch, Angela. Mifune treats Angela with the care of a big brother or even a father figure. He subsequently becomes a bodyguard for Arachne, a move driven solely by her captivity of Angela, a fact unknown to the girl herself. He appears to enjoy the company of children, blushing when Tsubaki suggests he might teach at Shibusen. Formerly a bodyguard for a mafia family, Mifune was dispatched to assassinate a rival clan and retrieve their captive witch, where he encountered Angela. After effectively kidnapping her, he deserted his employers to ensure her safety. He also praises Tsubaki, calling her a formidable weapon with great potential, which causes her to blush. His name is derived from the legendary Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune. His combat style revolves around the Infinite One-Sword Style. When fighting children, he utilizes the blunt side of his blade, as demonstrated in his initial battle with Black Star. He can also embed his swords into the ground to use them as platforms for rapid movement. The start of his engagements is signaled by tossing his sword case into the air, allowing the blades to stick into the ground and encircle both him and his opponent, providing him with a near-limitless supply of weapons. In the Three Shining Paths technique, he grabs and hurls three swords at his target. During Addition Blows, which consist of one to twelve strikes, he moves at high speeds, releasing one sword after each hit to deploy another from a different angle while the enemy is stunned, ultimately leaving twelve swords embedded in the opponent. He follows this with Multiplication Twenty Four Blows, striking the swords previously left around the enemy to slash them again simultaneously.
