Kagome, Ririko

Summary

Ririko Kagome is a bespectacled math teacher at Yokai Academy who makes her debut in chapter 12 of the first serialization. Outwardly innocent and deeply concerned with her students' academic performance, she offers private tutoring to anyone willing to pay the price. Kurumu notes that Ririko often goes overboard with her lessons and harbors envy toward her large breasts. She utilizes a flower-like appendage on her tail to drain the emotions of her students in exchange for knowledge. Additionally, she appears to have a fetish for S&M outfits, claiming they motivate her male students to work harder, though this may simply be a justification in her warped mind. During the initial arc, Ririko attempts to enslave Tsukune when he is forced into her tutoring to improve his failing math grades. She views Moka as an obstacle to his studies, having misinterpreted catching Moka trying to suck Tsukune's blood. When Moka attempts a rescue, Tsukune breaks free from Ririko's control long enough to remove Moka's rosario, leading to her defeat by Moka's vampire form. Tsukune reveals she received a two-week suspension, indicating she will return to work, unlike Ishigami. She reappears in chapter 19 to warn Tsukune and Moka about Okuto Kotsubo. While she has dropped her grudge against Moka in the manga, her anime incarnation still holds a resentment, attempting to take Moka hostage before being stopped by Nekonome in a catwoman costume. The anime version is also depicted as slightly more perverse than her manga counterpart. Unlike other antagonists, she is not inherently evil but is rather passionate about the education of the academy's students and the hierarchy between teachers and pupils.
