Shidoh

Summary

Shidoh is a Shinigami who lost possession of his Death Note to Ryuk, who subsequently transferred it to Light. This notebook later passed through Higuchi before ending up with Mello’s gang, specifically under the control of Kal Snyder, also known as Jack Neylon. A self-proclaimed chocoholic, Shidoh remained oblivious to the theft because he had neglected to kill humans to extend his lifespan. As his remaining time neared its end, he tracked down Ryuk and discovered that Mello held his note. He then located Snyder in the human world and struck a deal to assist Mello’s faction against Light and the SPK in exchange for retrieving his notebook. Once Light recovered the Death Note from Mello, he returned it to Shidoh, instructing him to cease his interference and depart for the Shinigami realm. While these events unfold over roughly one volume in the manga, the anime adaptation only featured Shidoh in two episodes: a brief introduction at the end of episode 28 and a more detailed portrayal in episode 29 covering his efforts to reclaim his Death Note. Regarding his name, it is spelled "Shidoh" in Death Note: How to Read 13, but appears as "Sidoh" in the tankōbon character introductions and the translated English manga.
