Summary
Kuroki maintained a difficult relationship with his father, Taizo, who remained devoted to the traditional methods of running Japanese inns. In contrast, Kuroki embraced modernity and aspired to construct a hotel. Although he longed to reconcile with his father, he was ultimately denied the opportunity.
