Summary
Goshinki, whose name translates to Mind Reading Devil, serves as a member of Naraku’s third detachment. He possesses the unique ability to perceive the thoughts of others, a power he uses to outmaneuver Inuyasha and successfully shatter the Tessaiga by biting it. This act forces Inuyasha to transform into his berserk youkai state, rendering Goshinki unable to read his mind, which ultimately leads to his death at Inuyasha’s hands. After discovering that Goshinki had broken the sword, Sesshoumaru retrieves Goshinki’s fangs and commissions the creation of the sword Tokijin from them. Infused with Goshinki’s malice, Tokijin is imbued with such immense power and malevolence that it is too dangerous for anyone except Sesshoumaru to wield.
