Summary
Shido Fuyuki is a twenty-one-year-old Beastmaster born on August 12, standing 182 cm tall with a weight of 72 kg and blood type A. He possesses the unique ability to control animals, though he prefers to describe this as asking them for favors since he genuinely views them as friends rather than tools. Initially, Shido was paired with Kurusu Masaki to guard the East Gates of the Infinity Fortress within the Volts organization. This role gave him extensive knowledge of Masaki and his followers, although it is uncertain if he was aware of Masaki’s true identity as a vassal for the Voodoo King. Shido observed that Masaki had changed significantly from his former self, who was once a man dedicated to protecting the weak. After Volts disbanded, Shido left the Infinity Fortress to earn a living independently, similar to Ginji. Although he initially felt betrayed by Ginji’s departure, the two eventually reconciled. Taking inspiration from the Get Backers, Shido established his own retrieval service, which is sometimes assisted by Emishi. Despite his independent nature and cold demeanor toward others, he maintains a deep bond with the animals he commands, striving to protect them just as they protect him. Shido later came to live with Otowa Madoka, where he developed an ongoing rivalry with Ban. Their verbal sparring includes Shido calling Ban "snake bastard" (or "Snake-for-Brains" in the anime adaptation), while Ban typically retorts with "saru-mashi" (monkey boy) or, referencing Shido’s residence with Madoka, "pimp."
