Summary
Born in Pallet Town on November 22 with an AB blood type, Green is the grandson of Professor Oak, who identifies him as the chosen Trainer. He is Red’s rival, initially displaying a cocky demeanor that softens over time, largely due to Red’s influence. Preferring to operate independently, Green eventually joins Red to battle Team Rocket, proving himself a capable ally. Throughout the series, he remains a determined, if occasionally cold, companion to other Dexholders. A formidable competitor, Green placed second in the 9th Pokemon League, trailing only Red. During the GSC arc, he assumed the role of Viridian Gym Leader after Red was injured and deemed unfit by Lorelei’s handcuffs. In the Gym Leaders' Exhibition Match, Green defeated his master, Chuck. Alongside Red, he is regarded as one of the world’s top Trainers. In the American localization, his name was changed to Blue, which creates confusion with the character originally named Green in that version.
