Summary

Sango is a sixteen-year-old youkai slayer, or youkai taijiya, originating from a village dedicated to the profession. As the sole member of Inuyasha’s party lacking supernatural abilities, she relies on the Hiraikotsu, a massive boomerang crafted from youkai bones, alongside a wide array of specialized tools and tricks for combat. Her life was shattered by Naraku’s malevolent schemes, which resulted in the destruction of her village and the murder of her family. Naraku orchestrated these events to frame Inuyasha and manipulate Sango into seeking revenge against him. After this initial plot failed, Naraku inserted a shard of the Shikon Jewel into her young brother Kohaku, reviving and controlling him to fight the group and further manipulate Sango. While driven by a desire for vengeance, her primary objective is to save Kohaku from Naraku’s influence and preserve his life, though this remains uncertain given that his existence is tied to the jewel shard. She harbors clear romantic feelings for Miroku, despite being repulsed by his habitual lechery and constant groping.
