Summary
Jin serves as a member of the Shadow Channelers squad during the Dark Tournament, though the group’s actual moniker is the Shinobi of the Spirit World. He is presumed to be friends with his teammate Touya, as the pair are rarely seen apart outside of combat and remain together even after the tournament concludes. Jin possesses a cheerful and upbeat demeanor, speaking with a distinct Irish accent in the English dub. He holds a strong disdain for his brutish teammate, Bakken, and advises Yusuke that combatants should not let external anger or hostility infiltrate a match, urging them to enjoy the fight, particularly when fighting for their lives. Despite this sunny disposition, Jin is a highly skilled fighter who dives into battles with wholehearted commitment. His signature ability involves wind manipulation, allowing him to hover in the air, generate small cyclones around his fists, or summon massive tornadoes. Jin first appears alongside the rest of the Shadow Channelers during the Dark Tournament against Team Urameshi. As desired, he is pitted against Yusuke Urameshi. After a prolonged exchange of powerful attacks, Jin is knocked out of the arena and loses the bout. However, due to a trick orchestrated by the team’s owner, the match is officially declared a tie. Following the Dark Tournament, Jin participates in the Makai Tournament. He is recruited by Kurama to serve Yomi, one of the three Demon Lords in the Makai, or Demon Plane. Before the tournament begins, Jin trains under Genkai, advancing his rank from upper C Class to upper A Class. During the tournament, he faces Souketsu, a former friend and rival of Yusuke’s ancestral father, the thunder god Raizen. A flashback reveals Souketsu’s defeat by the late king.
