Summary
Casella serves as both a teacher and a physician in Milan, where he maintains a substantial personal library. Known for his kindness, he played a pivotal role in Romeo’s early development by teaching the boy to read and write, effectively introducing the then eleven-year-old to the world of knowledge. He also accepted custody of Bianca Martini at the request of her dying brother, Alfredo. Dr. Casella treated Bianca with the same love and care as his own daughter. Furthermore, he dedicates every Saturday to visiting an orphanage, where he provides medical examinations for the children.
