Rahman, Sehrul

Rahman, Sehrul

Summary

Sehrul Rahman, a senior member of Yami in his early fifties, is the Kalarippayattu master of the One Shadow, Nine Fists faction and the mentor to Ethan Stanley. He makes his first appearance in Battle 266. Physically, he is a tall, muscular man with long hair slicked back and a light beard, dressed in Indian attire adorned with golden arm bands. His Yami Symbol is Void, and he practices the Satsujin Ken. Sehrul presents himself as a gentle and passive individual, famously intervening to stop Kushinada Chikage from pinching herself as punishment, asserting that martial arts punishments should be administered through martial arts. Among the masters, he is unique in his reluctance to see his disciple fight Kenichi. However, he possesses a lethal capacity, demonstrated when he struck the marma points of forces sent to detain him with enough force to kill them, had the Ryozanpaku masters not intervened to save them. His gentle nature has influenced his disciple, Ethan, who seeks to defeat Kenichi to take Rachel Stanley under his care and protect her from Silcardo Jenazad. This tolerance contrasts sharply with the flashy personality of Diego Carlo. Despite his mild demeanor, Sehrul holds that the true Satsujin Ken requires an emotionless state. He expressed disapproval of Kanou Shou inheriting the techniques, stating that one must be heartless to use the Satsujin Ken effectively. How he taught his Dou fighter disciple to bypass this emotional limit remains unclear, though it is speculated he taught Ethan to suppress emotions internally and release them through martial arts.
