Summary
Anzu Yamasaki makes her debut in Chapter 242 as a member of the Osaka Gantz Team. Her initial encounter with Kato Masaru occurs when she observes him aiding a family during an alien attack. Confused by his behavior, she questions his motives, and upon hearing that he was saving the family, she laughs at him. She begins shadowing Kato, hoping to find a contradiction between his words and deeds. When he fails to disappoint her and instead endangers himself to protect others, she walks away. However, a sense of guilt drives her back to assist him in battling the alien, though she mostly hinders his efforts, leading to her own rescue by Kato. Over the following chapters, she continues to stick close to him, gradually developing romantic feelings for his kindness and compassion. After Kato shares a personal story about his younger brother that resonates with her, she opens up to him about her son. Later, when Kato volunteers to serve as bait for a 100-point alien, Yamasaki asks him to move in with her and her son to make a future together.
