Summary
Kusuriuri is a mysterious, wandering figure known for his extensive knowledge of the supernatural and his mystical demeanor. He carries a large wooden box containing medicine and holy tools, including an enchanted sword designed to slay mononoke. To wield this blade, he must identify the Katachi, Makoto, and Kotowari of the target. Once the sword is drawn, he undergoes a transformation into a demonic entity. Although his origins remain unknown, he displays non-human traits such as elf-like ears and pointed canine teeth. He retains his handsome appearance throughout the series, with the only visual changes in the Bakeneko arc being small round red stud earrings and a ring on his index finger. During the Umibozu episode, he reveals that his deepest fear is the absence of form, truth, and reasoning at the edge of the world, which would render his existence meaningless.
