Summary
Maho serves as Shūichi’s older sister, predating her by a year and sharing a bedroom with her at the start of Hōrō Musuko while in the sixth grade of elementary school. A devoted fan of teen model Maiko, Maho’s intense desire to meet her idol leads her to submit a photograph to a modeling agency, resulting in her hiring as a young model within the same organization as Maiko. She exhibits a strong passion for fashion, frequently spending her funds on new clothing, and relishes the attention and requests for autographs from strangers once she begins to gain recognition. Although her modeling career starts slowly, Maho quickly builds confidence in her skills, forming friendships with Maiko and fellow models Anna Suehiro and Tamaki Satō. Unlike her more reserved sibling, Maho is outspoken and often treats Shūichi roughly, resorting to hitting or slapping her on occasion. She expresses significant displeasure and anger toward Shūichi’s cross-dressing, often imposing her will on her sister with little regard for Shūichi’s opinions. Later, upon entering junior high school, Maho develops a romantic interest in her classmate Riku Seya and eventually begins dating him.
