Summary

Akeno Himejima is an eighteen-year-old third-year student at Kuou Academy, standing at 168 cm with violet eyes. Born to a human mother and a Fallen Angel father, she is a Reincarnated Devil who serves as the Queen to Rias Gremory. Initially introduced as one of the "Two Great Onee-samas" alongside Rias, she holds the title of the ultimate Queen among her peers. Her rank has progressed from Low-Class Devil to Middle-Class Devil, and finally to High-Class Devil. Akeno embodies the ideal of the Yamato Nadeshiko, presenting herself as an elegant and gentle woman. However, this calm exterior hides a sadistic nature; in battle, she displays no mercy or remorse, often smiling pleasantly while inflicting pain and showing signs of lust and pleasure when defeating enemies. Her personality is deeply influenced by her traumatic past. Witnessing her mother’s death and her father’s inability to save her led to a profound hatred for Fallen Angels and self-loathing regarding her own hybrid heritage. This pain caused her to sever ties with her father, Baraqiel, and go into exile, where she was nearly killed by her maternal relatives before being saved by Rias. She empathizes with those harmed by Fallen Angels, such as Issei and Asia, fearing that Issei would reject her due to her lineage. However, after Issei accepted her despite her background, she fell deeply in love with him. With his support, she reconciled with her father and overcame the grief of her mother’s death. Originally uninterested in dating, Akeno’s feelings for Issei grew after witnessing his determination during the Rating Game against Riser Phenex and his actions at Rias’s engagement ceremony. She finds him cute and has developed a desire to deepen their relationship, often teasing him and Rias. She admits to having masochistic tendencies, but only toward Issei, contrasting with her battlefield sadism. Her behavior can be quite vulgar, as she flirts openly and attempts to initiate sexual encounters, though she respects Rias enough not to steal Issei away, even assisting in his confession to her. Once in love, she becomes highly seductive and obsessed with finding opportunities for an affair, though these are frequently interrupted. When her Onee-sama facade drops, Akeno reveals a vulnerable side that relies heavily on men, particularly Issei and her father. Threats to their safety can cause her to become depressed or tense, as seen when Issei was injured or presumed dead. Despite her mature and seductive demeanor, she retains a certain innocence and emotional volatility regarding love, acting like a typical girl of her age during dates. She is also capable of jealousy, fighting for Issei’s affection like the other girls. Akeno refuses to use her inherited power of light, a trait of her Fallen Angel lineage, until she is convinced by Issei to embrace it.
