Summary
Maruruk is a young Delver residing in the Seeker Camp on the second layer of The Abyss, where he lives alongside the legendary White Whistle, Ouzen the Immovable. Despite his tender years, he has already achieved the rank of Blue Whistle as a direct disciple of Ouzen. His journey into the depths began with a near-fatal accident when he was very young, after which he was rescued by Ouzen. This event prompted Maruruk to remain in the Abyss and train under his savior. However, he eventually developed an extreme sensitivity to light, preventing him from ever returning to the surface. In his daily life at the camp, Maruruk mans the telescope, constantly scanning the surroundings for approaching Delvers so that a gondola can be lowered in preparation. Physically, he is a boy with short blue hair and a rounded face, possessing feminine features that often cause others to mistake him for a girl. He is frequently seen in maid attire, a style of dress that appears to have been imposed on him by Ouzen.
