Summary
Chabo is a young boy hailing from Gosa Village who harbored a deep desire to kill Arlong in order to avenge his father's death. Nami paid him off and instructed him to leave, but he subsequently attacked Usopp, mistakenly believing the latter to be a fish-man because of his long nose. Nojiko intervened to stop him. After returning to Nojiko's home, she advised him not to throw his life away and asked if he had a mother; upon receiving a positive response, she sent him on his way to her, reasoning that she was likely worried. When the surviving residents of Gosa called the Marines for assistance, Chabo joined them in announcing the events to Nojiko and the other Cocoyashi villagers. Although the Marines engaged Arlong, their efforts proved futile. Following the Fall of Arlong Park, Chabo decided to abandon his personal quest for revenge and joined the rest of Cocoyashi Village in celebration.
