Summary
Nikolai Tolstoy serves as a Bishop within the Russian Orthodox Church. During the Third World War, he forms an alliance with Fiamma, agreeing to help capture Sasha in exchange for being appointed the next Arch-bishop of the Russian Orthodox Church. Although he is involved in these schemes, he is not the leader of Annihilatus; that role belongs to Vasilisa. In the events of Volumes 9-10, while the 'St. Peter's Cross' was still mistaken for the 'Stab Sword', Nikolai was widely believed to be the intended recipient of the artifact. This assumption stemmed from his reputation for being highly ambitious and willing to employ any means necessary to achieve his goals.
